G2 Esports beat Leviatán 3-2 in the VCT Americas Stage 1 grand final on Sunday, May 24, claiming their fourth regional title and first-seed qualification to Masters London.

The win came from the lower bracket. G2 dropped to lowers after a 1-2 loss to LEV in the Upper Final on May 22, then clawed past NRG 3-2 in the Lower Final before running back the Leviatán matchup with a different result. G2 won Fracture 13-12, Pearl 13-10, and Split 13-11, taking two of those three on maps where Leviatán held pick or decider advantage.

The Map Veto Gave LEV the Edge on Paper

Arriving as the upper bracket team, Leviatán banned Lotus and Breeze, stripping G2 of two of their most comfortable picks all stage. LEV then selected Fracture and Ascent, leaving G2 with Pearl and Haven, while Split remained as the decider. The pool looked lopsided before a single round was played.

G2 won anyway. jawgemo earned series MVP with 89 kills, 31 assists, and 21 first kills across all five maps, the highest opening kill count on the G2 side. His stat line read 89/89/31 for the series, a near-perfect K/D in a match that went all the way.

LEV’s Rookies Showed Up

The losing side had nothing to apologize for. Sato topped the server at 94 kills with 20 first kills to just eight first deaths. blowz posted 84 kills and a +15 K/D differential with only one first death across the entire series. Leviatán generated 70 opening picks to G2’s 49. That G2 still took the trophy despite losing the first-kill battle in almost every map says more about their post-plant discipline and economy management than any individual highlight.

This is a roster with four players in their first full VCT season at the top level. Finishing second in Americas, pushing the region’s most decorated squad to five maps in a grand final, is a result most veteran lineups would take.

G2’s Trophy Cabinet Gets Another Addition

G2 Esports have now won VCT Americas Kickoff 2025, Stage 1 2025, Stage 2 2025, and Stage 1 2026. Four regional titles. The one gap that remains is an international trophy, and they will get their next shot at filling it at Masters London, running June 6 through 21 at the Copper Box Arena. G2 head there as Americas’ first seed.

Leviatán travel to London as the region’s second seed. NRG, the reigning VALORANT world champions, locked the third Americas slot after beating 100 Thieves in the lower bracket.

The G2 vs. Leviatán grand final result in May 2026 settles an Americas rivalry that LEV had owned entering the weekend. In both of their previous 2026 meetings, Leviatán came out on top. G2 got the last word when it mattered most.
