Natus Vincere are IEM Atlanta 2026 champions. The Ukrainian organization demolished GamerLegion 3:0 in the grand final on Saturday night to claim their second trophy of 2026 and the first notch in the ESL Grand Slam Season 7 race.
The series was never competitive. Mirage opened as GamerLegion’s pick and turned into a nightmare before the European side could settle: 13:3, with Aleksib calling rings around Snax from the CT side. Anubis offered stiffer resistance, GamerLegion winning the early force-buy war and making the map scrappy through individual plays from hypex and REZ, but NAVI’s structure held. w0nderful anchored the defense, Aleksib outmaneuvered GamerLegion through mid-round adjustments on the T side, and NAVI closed it 13:9.
Nuke was the only map that felt alive. GamerLegion clawed their way back into contention after a poor start, leaning on Tauson’s clutch play and growing confidence from PR and hypex. They pushed the scoreline to 12 rounds and had map point within reach. Then makazze woke up. Four opening kills in a row on NAVI’s T side swung five straight rounds and forced overtime, where NAVI’s experience sealed the 16:13 finish and the trophy.
w0nderful Claims First Career MVP at IEM Atlanta
w0nderful walked away with the MVP medal and a stat line that will be remembered: 1.31 Rating 3.0 across 16 maps, peaking at a 1.44 rating in the grand final with 87.2 ADR and a 60-34 K-D line. The Ukrainian AWPer’s best work came in the quarterfinal against Vitality, where he posted ratings of 1.95 and 1.87 on the two maps NAVI won, a performance that turned the entire tournament.
For a player who already had a Major title on his resume, the MVP medal was the one missing piece. w0nderful had been one of the most mechanically gifted snipers in Counter-Strike for over a year. Atlanta made it official: he belongs in the superstar conversation.
NAVI Beat Vitality for the First Time in 2026
The real final might have been the quarterfinal. NAVI entered their match against Vitality carrying nine consecutive series losses to the world’s No. 1 team, including two grand final sweeps. They had not taken a single map off apEX’s roster in 2026 before Atlanta.
That changed on Anubis, where w0nderful’s opening picks and iM’s site holds forced Vitality into uncomfortable mid-round scrambles. NAVI squeezed out a 13:11 win. The decider on Inferno was a statement: 13:3, with NAVI dominating banana control and Vitality looking mentally checked out. The result ended Vitality’s 21-tournament streak of reaching the top four at tier-1 events, a run stretching back to BLAST Bounty 2025.
B1ad3 called it a turning point. iM posted that the curse was lifted. Vitality captain apEX admitted exhaustion.
Aleksib’s Emotional Victory
After NAVI lifted the trophy, Aleksib posted a message that overshadowed the scorelines entirely. The Finnish IGL revealed his 101-year-old grandmother passed away the day he arrived in Atlanta.
The post resonated across the CS2 community. Players, analysts, and fans flooded the replies with support. For a captain who spent months managing a roster through inconsistent form, illness within the camp, and the mental weight of repeated losses to Vitality, the trophy carried meaning that statistics cannot capture.
NAVI’s 2026 Trophy Run
IEM Atlanta is NAVI’s second title of 2026 after ESL Pro League Season 23 in March, where makazze earned the DHL MVP in a 3:1 grand final victory over Aurora Gaming. Atlanta felt different. EPL S23 was won without Vitality in the field. In Atlanta, NAVI beat the best team in the world, survived a group-stage loss to Legacy, and swept the grand final without dropping a map in the playoffs after the quarterfinal.
The prize pool was $1,000,000, with NAVI taking home $295,000 ($170,000 to the organization, $125,000 split among the players). Combined with the ESL Pro League winnings, this roster is building a season that looked improbable two months ago.
GamerLegion’s Run Falls Short
Credit where it’s due. GamerLegion arrived at IEM Atlanta ranked #11 and reached a tier-1 grand final for the first time since the BLAST.tv Paris Major. Snax returned to an Atlanta final nine years after losing the ELEAGUE Major in the same city with Virtus.pro. REZ played the best CS2 of his career. PR and hypex showed they can compete against elite opposition.
The problem was NAVI. GamerLegion had already played five maps in the playoff bracket before the final. NAVI had played three. Fatigue and class both mattered. GamerLegion now head to IEM Cologne with momentum and the knowledge that this core can go deep at the biggest events.
What Comes Next
The IEM Cologne Major starts June 2. NAVI enter as legitimate contenders for the first time this year. Vitality will be rested, motivated, and hunting revenge. Atlanta told us this NAVI roster can beat anyone on their day. Cologne will tell us whether that day repeats.
