Passion UA are done for 2026. The Ukrainian org confirmed on Monday that its main roster is shutting down operations for the rest of the season, pulling out of BC.Game Masters Championship Season 2 and walking away from competitive CS2 until further notice.
IEM Atlanta was the final act. It was a bad one. Passion UA went out in 13-16th place after losing both group stage series, a 0:2 sweep by NAVI followed by a 1:2 elimination at the hands of SINNERS. Two matches. No playoffs. Season over.
The organization is calling it a pause, not a shutdown. The numbers tell a different story.
A Season of Roster Roulette
Passion UA entered 2026 with genuine ambition. The February signings of Santino “try” Rigal and Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold were supposed to be the big swing, a roster built around five players from five different continents with the firepower to break into consistent Tier 1 contention.
That project never got off the ground. Practice time was scarce. Results were worse. IGL Johnny “JT” Theodosiou told HLTV after his team’s elimination in Atlanta that the squad was stuck in a loop of the same mistakes with no clear path forward. The squad missed the Cologne Major invite entirely, and its VRS ranking cratered from 29th to 48th since February.
Then Senzu left. BC.Game picked him up on loan at the end of April, just two months after he arrived. The five-continent experiment ended before it ever produced a stable five-map pool. Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev came in on loan from ENCE’s bench, with about three days of practice before Atlanta. Coach T.c put a positive spin on it at the time, but sdy closed the tournament with a 0.81 rating across five maps. That number does not scream stability.
What Comes Next
The current active roster on paper reads JT, sdy, try, Kvem, and nicx. Treat that list as temporary. sdy is a loanee with no confirmed long-term deal. try arrived in February as part of a project that no longer exists in its original form. Kvem was the one bright spot in Atlanta, posting a 1.22 rating against SINNERS, but one player cannot carry a team that keeps rebuilding around him.
Passion UA’s leadership has burned through hallzerk, Grim, Senzu, DemQQ, and sdy in the space of five months. That many roster moves in half a season points to something deeper than bad individual fits.
The org says it plans to come back. The next scheduled event on the calendar would have been the Stake Ranked Episode 2 Closed Qualifier starting May 29. That is now off the table. Whatever Passion UA look like when they return, the only guarantee is that it will not look like this.
