All Gamers and EDward Gaming opened the VCT 2026 China Stage 1 with victories on Day 1 in Hangzhou, kicking off a five-week Group Stage that will determine which Chinese teams earn their tickets to Masters London this June.

The action at West Lake Gymnasium began with a dramatic three-map series between All Gamers and Titan Esports Club in Group Alpha, followed by a ruthless sweep as EDward Gaming dismantled Nova Esports in Group Omega. Two matches, two very different stories.

All Gamers Survive Overtime Scare Against Titan in VCT China Day 1 Opener

All Gamers 2 : 1 Titan Esports Club (Lotus 13โ€“7, Bind 8โ€“13, Breeze 15โ€“13)

The Kickoff champions needed overtime on the decider to escape with a win. All Gamers dominated Lotus behind a monstrous f4ngeer performance, but Titan Esports Club responded emphatically on Bind, where Dynamite erupted for 21 kills on Neon and Haodong posted a 1.47 rating on Brimstone to take the map 13โ€“8. Breeze went to overtime, with All Gamers clawing their way to a 15โ€“13 finish after Titan had built a strong lead through the first half.

f4ngeer was the standout player across the series, finishing with 50 kills and a 1.38 overall rating on Waylay. His Lotus performance alone produced 23 kills, a 322 ACS, and a 1.52 rating with zero first deaths on the map. On the other side, Titan’s Coco was quietly consistent throughout, ending the series with a 1.11 rating and 52 kills on Viper across all three maps. Dynamite contributed 41 kills on Neon but finished at a flat 0.98 rating, a sign that his impact came in bursts rather than sustained pressure.

This was not the clean sweep many expected from the reigning Kickoff champions. All Gamers came into this match after a solid run at Masters Santiago, where they took down Gentle Mates before falling to Paper Rex and G2 Esports. Their inconsistency showed on Bind, where Shr1mp went 11โ€“17 and the team’s overall structure fell apart on defense. Septem7 finished the series at a 0.72 rating with a -12 K/D differential, a worrying output from the smoker role that the coaching staff will need to address before tougher opponents arrive in the schedule.

Titan, meanwhile, proved that their new Waylay player Spitfires can be a genuine threat. He posted a solid 1.04 rating on Lotus and looked especially sharp on attack halves across the series, even if his consistency dipped on certain maps. The overtime loss on Breeze will sting, but Titan pushed the strongest team in their group to the wire. That matters heading into a Week 1 that also includes TYLOO and Bilibili Gaming.

The veto told its own story: Titan picked Lotus and lost it 7โ€“13. All Gamers picked Bind and lost it 8โ€“13. Neither team won their own map pick, with the series ultimately decided on the leftover, Breeze. That kind of map pool instability is worth watching as Group Alpha unfolds.

EDward Gaming Dismantle Nova Esports in Opening Day Sweep

EDward Gaming 2 : 0 Nova Esports (Fracture 13โ€“2, Breeze 13โ€“3)

This was not competitive. EDward Gaming conceded a combined five rounds across two maps, delivering the most lopsided result of the VCT 2026 China Stage 1 opening day. Nova Esports, who finished 11thโ€“12th at the China Kickoff, looked outclassed in every department.

Jieni7 produced a career-level performance, closing the series with 36 kills, only 15 deaths, and a staggering 2.03 rating across both maps. He played Neon on Fracture and KAY/O on Breeze, posting 300 ACS and consistently winning opening engagements. ZmjjKK complemented him with 29 kills on Waylay/Jett and the highest first-kill count in the series at 7 FKs. The duo combined for 65 kills while losing just 20 between them.

Nova’s numbers painted a grim picture. swagzor went 16โ€“28 with 11 first deaths on Chamber and Neon, while GuanG posted an 11โ€“25 line in the Duelist role. No Nova player finished above a 0.84 rating for the series. Breeze was particularly dire: Nova picked the map and managed just 3 rounds, with EDG’s defensive setups suffocating every execute attempt.

EDward Gaming entered Stage 1 as the bookmakers’ favourites to win the event at approximately 4.00 odds. This opening sweep did nothing to challenge that assessment. For Nova, sitting in the same group as EDG, Wolves Esports, and Dragon Ranger Gaming, an 0โ€“1 start with a -21 round differential puts them in an early hole.

What Comes Next in the VCT 2026 China Stage 1

The Group Stage continues with two matches per day through Week 1. Wednesday’s slate features JDG Esports vs FunPlus Phoenix (Group Alpha) and Dragon Ranger Gaming vs Xi Lai Gaming (Group Omega). Thursday brings Wolves Esports vs Trace Esports and the highly anticipated Bilibili Gaming vs TYLOO matchup.

All 12 teams will play five Group Stage matches in a single round-robin format. The top four from each group advance to a ranking stage, then into a double-elimination playoff bracket. The bottom two from each group are eliminated. Three Chinese teams will qualify for Masters London, scheduled for June 6โ€“21.

The tournament continues daily at West Lake Gymnasium in Hangzhou, with Chinese-language broadcasts on Bilibili, Douyu, and Huya. No official English broadcast is available for VCT China; English-speaking fans will need to rely on community co-streams for coverage.
